About the Site

Sky Eden is an original online manga/comic/webcomic/graphic novel created by me, David Chan. With an ounce of adventure, a dash of romance, a pinch of fruit, and a pound of sillyness, I hope Sky Eden will be a fun read for all. Since this is a personal project of mine, I will ensure to make this the most enjoyable piece of literature known to all of mankind...and to cows (you can't forget about the cows)! Although this site was launched on Feb 15, 2008, I've had an idea to create a narrative for quite some time. The idea first popped into my head when my sister had borrowed many manga books from the library. I was offered to read some of them, but I was daunted by this "manga" thing. Yet curiosity had sparked something inside of me.

The very first manga I read was a really old school love comedy called "Maison Ikkoku". Due to the fact that it was from my local library, my reading selection was very small and dated. Yet after finishing this story, I was inspired to create my very own narrative.

Then around August of 2006, I had decided to entertain my hidden passion of creating a narrative. After evaluating all possible mediums (ranging from film, book, comics), I decided to create it as a manga. But at this time, my drawing skills were lackluster from zero to no practice. I had some drawing experience prior to this time, but I was by all means an amateur. I also had no story during this period. But 6 storyboards later and with tons of drawing practice, I'm proud to say that I've made something nice!
